Is this new? Or did I just not see it all this time?
My claim to fame for the day … Kim Dot Com is following me on Twitter …
Why the heck does AirBNB need to manage my contacts or see the meta data in my Google drive for?

Ohhh, look at this, it’s an embedded Facebook post. If you would like to do this on your own blog, keep an eye out for the new Metronet Embed Facebook posts plugin for WordPress, which is coming soon. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151772305231789&set=a.10150325114636789.390255.646001788&type=1 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152801372260207&set=vb.78844590771&type=3&theater
Thanks to Arnstein, I’m now the proud owner of a pair of Bose QC15 headphones. These things are awesome at blocking out the noise 🙂
Shamelessly stolen from Marcus.
Hmmm, so I thought Norway has basically no supermarkets whatsoever. The only things I’ve found are teeny tiny little things with almost not selection. Then whilst cycling along on the weekend, I came across this place called “Coop obs”. I didn’t have anything to lock my bike up with so could only scurry in, see […]
I’ve changed my blog theme over to the TwentyFourteen theme. It’s the new default theme coming in WordPress 3.7 3.8. Opinions so far seem to be good. I think I preferred the TwentyTwelve design the most though.
For those of you heading to the United States of America, I strongly suggest that you pray to the glorious gods in heaven that the heathens don’t infect you with their indecent thoughts. There are disturbing/indecent things occurring in that part of the world and you are at serious risk of receiving a blow job […]
The USA government is attempting to bypass the fundamental security system of the internet. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-57595202-38/feds-put-heat-on-web-firms-for-master-encryption-keys/ This is quite frightening as it gives them access to pretty much everything, including things which are encrypted whilst in transit

Random fact for the day. I was the first person to ever synthesise the drug used in this product back in 2003 … http://www.mitoq.com/ Admittedly I only changed the bromide anion to the methanesulfonate used in the final product, but still cool none the less 🙂 We were originally trying to create treatments for neurological disorders, […]
My old university is listed as one of the most beautiful in the world … http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/07/11/worlds-most-beautiful-universities_n_3578402.html
This is how I plan to be during my senile years. Hopefully this blog still exists then for me to look back on and laugh 🙂 In fact, I hope my brain is still in tact so that I can look back on this and laugh 🙂
The Norwegians decided to close down their biggest tourist attraction so that they could put in some new drains. I no longer find this sort of thing odd ..
Excellent day to leave Oslo 🙂 Photo taken at Rygge airport enroute to Duisburg, Deutschland.
This looks shady. Is the Guardian being censored now? Update: Conveniently, someone has paste binned it 🙂 Update 2: It looks like Wayne Madsen, the source in the article has some interesting views on various things. I assume they’ve pulled the article due to him not being considered a reliable source.
I plan to do the Oslo marathon in September. I tend to only exercise once per month, usually by running somewhere between 15 and 20 km. Yesterday I decided to cycle 50 km instead. Then today I felt that wasn’t enough so I decided to do a short 6 km run as well. But then […]
I occasionally receive questions from folks wanting to know how to secure their Facebook accounts due to them being being compromised. I am no expert on such matters, but here’s what I do (which seems to have worked so far) … Password Make sure you have a kick butt password. 12 characters with a mixture […]
I’m waiting in München before heading to Cluj-Napoca in Transylvania. The Germans certainly do know a thing or two about good beer.
Remember. The most scary thing about a hacker is their smell … http://www.adequacy.org/stories/2001.12.2.42056.2147.html
A crude story for Norwegian class. This hasn’t been proof read and is definitely riddled with errors. No need to correct as we’ll be reviewing this in class 🙂 Vi har ny loven i New Zealand. Vi hadde “Civil Union” før nå. De laget loven for “Civil Union” i 2004. Personer i “Civil Union” ha […]
A casual afternoon run with Karl turned into a 17.75 km adventure.
I ran the Sentrumsløpet in Oslo. 10 km in 61.5 mins in 2012 and 53 mins 46 seconds in 2013! There’s a dip in speed during the middle section as I got a really unpleasant cramp. Hopefully I can do even better for 2014 🙂 Here’s the trace from my Nike running watch.

As weird as it may seem, I’m pretty sure I managed to make this upward trend in load times decrease by reducing the amount of caching on my site(s). I reduced how often Batcache stores pages and the load time plummeted within a few minutes.
They sure do have some interesting fashions in Denmark.
This is what happened when I ported a couple of SMF forums over to bbPress.
I accidentally stumbled across this screenshot from geek.hellyer.kiwi in 2008.
From the old to the new. I upgraded SlapShot.net.nz this evening from SMF 1.1.14 to the latest bbPress plugin for WordPress. I’d been running an out of date, unpatched, insecure SMF installation for well over a year now. Plus I haven’t been doing any backups of it. By moving it to the bbPress plugin I […]

I have a minor problem. The Comment Errors plugin I wrote a while back is broken. I’m not sure why it’s broken, but I suspect it is related to a change in WordPress core, so I’m going to discontinue it until I come up with a better solution. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/comment-errors/ My current plan Remove all the […]
I wondered why some of the bread tasted so nasty when I moved to Norway. It turns out it was only half baked! I didn’t realise this was the problem until looking at the side of a packet today and reading “halvstekt” which means “half cooked”!
