Aquadom
RIP to the beautiful Aquadom which ruptured recently, sending it’s contents into the hotel lobby below. I used to love hanging out there and working on my computer beneath the fish.

Question from Jo Zayner on Facebook. So that we can better describe people. Just like we define objects like cars and bikes, even though there’s an obvious grey area between them. – answer from me

Julia and I went fruit picking in a little orchard in Potsdam.
We found these lions hanging out in a tree in the Serengeti. They appeared to give zero damns about us being there and seemed to totally ignore us.
This little hyena was chilling out in a hole in the ground in the Serengeti. When we drove over, he popped out of his hole to check out what the loud metal thing was doing.
We saw what felt like hundreds of giraffes all over the Serengeti. I feel they are somewhere between beautifully graceful and clumsily strange.
This majestic beast caught a gazelle right in front of us (I didn’t catch it on camera unfortunately). Our friendly tour guide drove over to it so that we could have a good look. It seemed a bit grumpy at us for being there though. I think it thought we were going to take away […]
Some hippo’s we saw in Ngorongoro National Park.

Our super friendly tour guide allowed us to drive his Toyota Landcruiser on the final day. I wasn’t too keen on breaking his vehicle, so let Basia take over the driving duties. She did an awesome job and didn’t break the truck 🙂
We didn’t fly in the balloon, but it was fun to see it whizzing over our heads.
Mo took this slightly artsy photo of me during a walk around Tempelhofer feld in Berlin.
This stunning piece of photography is of the only rhinoceros we saw in Tanzania. It was in Ngorongoro National Park and it was a really long way away. This photo was taken through binoculars and cropped into oblivion. The blur of dark grey pixels in middle, is the rhino 😉
During our safari tour, we found all of the “big five” animals, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and … not the last one, the leopard. We were still happy, but after exiting the park area our tour guide suddenly hit the brakes and told us to look out the right hand side. Sure enough, slowly meandering […]
Shot from the beach in Zanzibar. The water there was incredible. I spent ages just floating about on my back. It was the perfect temperature to just relax in the water.
A beautiful herd of giraffes we spotted meandering their way across Tarangire National Park.
This little rascal was running around a picnic area stealing bananas. Our tour guide said we could eat bananas when he was at the table, but that if he left or we walked away from him, that the moneys would attack. I was confused. Why would they avoid him, but not us? The answer was […]
Monkeys at Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary.
This is one of the worlds only domesticated zebra’s. We saw it at the Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary.
We got to see this stunningly beautiful tiger at the Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary. The first image was taken as close as it looks, and no, there was no cage protecting me! We had to sit with our butts firmly planted against the edge of his cage, while the sanctuary worker took this majestic beast […]
We saw this amazing lions at the Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary.
This amazing little puma was locked in a tiny little cage at Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary. This looked harsh, but his carers explained that he had been injured when sent from a zoo to their sanctuary as he didn’t cope well with being caged like that. So they were training him to be around humans […]
We saw this adorable lemur at the Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary.
Up close and personal with a hyena at the Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary in Zanzibar.
It’s weird seeing products you’ve worked on show up in Facebook ads. I had a similar experience with MitoQ too.
My first attempt at making sushi. It tasted great ?
Basia and I visited Cheetah Rock, an animal sanctuary in Zanzibar. Unsurprisingly, a cheetah is the main attraction. This particular Cheetah will never be able to return to the wild due to being too domesticated, but this thankfully meant that we were allowed to pet him. I took over camera duties rather than petting the […]
One would think that when you’ve driven past a bunch of lions, cheetahs, hyena’s and other scary animals, that one would panic when your vehicle gets stuck in the mud. But our trusty driver had no hesitation in hopping out to assist another stricken vehicle. After a while, we got bored just sitting around, so […]
The Undiecar Championship will be ending soon. Many little boys dream of becoming a racing driver. I had that dream, but I also dreamed of running my own race car series. I was always frustrated with how major racing series were run. I always felt they took themselves too seriously. Isn’t the point of sport […]
We got to see these cool little tortoises in the Cheetah Rock wildlife sanctuary in Zanzibar.
I stood on something in Zanzibar, and yelped when I saw I’d stomped on this little dude. Thankfully he seemed to take it pretty well and just kept on trucking.
I have no idea what this little dude was, but he landed directly beside me while staying at a beach side hotel in Zanzibar.
I assembled a pile for cushions to block the air conditioner from hitting Cassienne, and we decided it looked like an art exhibit ?
View of the lush green hills surrounding Ngorongoro national park in Tanzania.
We visited a spice farm in Zanzibar. If you ever go to Tanzania, then I highly recommend this for an afternoon activity. The people running the spice farm were super friendly and excited to share their knowledge of the spice industry. They also farmed a lot of fruit, which was a lot tastier and more […]
Check out this giant termite mound we found in Tarangire national park in Tanzania!
