My visit to the Dachau concentration camp near München in Germany. A dump of photos I took during my visit.

I forgot to post these photos I took of weird shit in Japan. Apparently they like drinking sweat, buying coffee and cigarettes from vending machines …

Thanks to Milan for pointing out this terrifically informative video. I learned a lot about bounce dynamics from it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL2-9k519Gs
Basically the old testament tells you how inferior you are to God and all the things you have to do to make it up to him. Then the new testament says, “Scratch that. This dude died for your inadequacies. Follow him and be saved.” – via @ronalfy
I have moved away from Norway where I have made my home for the past two years. It feels sad, as I do love Norway, the people, and will miss my life there.
If you don’t know what VIP Quickstart is then this post is not intended for you 🙂 Edit: I’ve been reading the Varying Vagrant Vagrants page, which says that version 4.2.16 of Virtualbox is incompatible with Vagrant. That is the exact version of Virtualbox which I’m using right now, so I’ll try downgrading and see […]
I made my first attempt at playing Bandy. For those of you who aren’t aware of what Bandy is, it is a sport which is similar to regular hockey, but is played with 11 players on each side on a huge soccer field sized ice rink with very low boards. The stick is much shorter […]
I saw a terrible reminder of the history of Berlin whilst walking down the street. Bullet holes left on building walls from World War 2 could be clearly seen.
Berliner Weisse. A horrific abomination of beer which should never be consumed by anyone.
I met up with my old colleague Vikas in Tübingen. We had some genuine German food and had a beautiful view of houses beside the Neckar river.
I visited München (aka Munich) in the heart of Bavaria. I made a new friend called Jen at the hostel I was staying at.
What is the most appropriate response to the following scenario … You wake up to hear crashing and bashing in your apartment. You figure one of your flatmates is just drunk and ignore it. The bashing goes on for a while. You keep ignoring it. Then someone walks straight into your room (no knocking, just […]
If people had the right to seek vengeance for things they saw as an injustice, society would become a very scary place. You may feel you are justified in seeking vengeance upon others, but I’m sure others feel justified in seeking vengeance for things you would not agree with. I recommend not setting an example […]
I visited the Kölner Dom (aka Cologne Cathedral) in Köln. I went again the morning after and climbed to the top.
I visited Bonn, where I had some awesome beer, including a slightly strange but tasty brew called a “kristall weiss”. I also visited the Bonn Münster.
I moved into my current apartment because I knew I would have awesome flatmates. Three awesome girls and a cool guy. My room is 23 m2, ie: very big! I am moving out because I am moving to Berlin. If you know of any males looking for a room to rent or are looking for […]
I had an awesome time in Amsterdam after WordCamp Europe with Ivelina and some of the other WordPress geeks. We went to Brouwerij”t ij, a small micro brewery with great beers and went out for dinner in a really awesome Chinese place. I didn’t think Europe had any good Chinese restaurants, but it turns out […]
My lovely friend Nadia decided to try beer for the first time. She however made the n00b mistake of deciding to try cheap nasty Norwegian alcohol free beer.
I visited Susan, an awesome girl I know from Dunedin, in Wuppertal Germany. Wuppertal is a small city near Dusseldorf. It is famous for the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn, a very old but unique train system which hangs the trains from above rather than on tracks.
I had my first experience of AirBNB in Leiden in the Netherlands. It was a really nice place at a good price and with a terrific view.
I’m currently sitting in a teeny tiny pub in Bonn (Germany), drinking something called a Kristall weiss, which according to the bar tender is apparently like a regular weissbier, but it’s filtered so it doesn’t have the cloudy weissbier thing going on. Imma starting to feel a little drunk 😉
Ivelina and I went to a Shisha pipe place in Amsterdam. I mostly spluttered, coughed. Ivelina clearly enjoys it a whole lot more than me though.
We had a shuffleboard tournament in Dramman for Kiwis. It is a rather strange table top sport.
At 29 years of age, Ross William Ulbricht has been charged with running Silk Road. What confuses me, is that these are supposedly the ways he got caught. All of which seem like trivial things that he should never have been doing. He avertised Silk Road on drug forums and bitcointalk.org with the username “altoid”, […]
Somehow, I have managed to never play the illustrious game of beer pong. Tonight was my lovely flatmate Charlottes birthday party, where I got to break my beer pong duck finally, and we won too, thanks to my kick butt teammates 🙂
My awesome team won at beer pong this evening 🙂
Darn it. Winter is coming! I took this photo on my way to work this morning.

Knekkebrød is a strange Scandinavian bread. It normally tastes like cardboard. It turns out I do like knekkebrød if it’s yummy Danish style knekkebrød 🙂
Marathon completed! 4 hours 57 minutes. I’m no Kenyan, but I’m just glad to have made it to the finishing line in one piece 🙂 I hate running. I do however seem to excel when I challenge myself and I decided to challenge myself to do a marathon. My motivation for this began whilst trying […]
When I attended my friends Ingvild and Marte’s wedding, I was repeatedly asked what I thought of Norwegian weddings.
Thanks to @georidersmtb for becoming my 2000th follower 🙂
I ate almost nothing but vegetables for a week and felt awful. I ate nothing but carbohydrates on the weekend and now I feel great. I think I’ll stick with the carbohydrates from now on 🙂
Steffi and I headed to a small viewing platform beside the Rhine river, near Duisburg.
One of our final evenings at Metronet, my old employer in Norway.
God sent this to me.
A group of us headed off to Bjørnsjøen from Oslo for a nice Saturday cycling trip. We had some mud bogs to cycle through, a barbecue and lots of sun 🙂
I think it bent out of shape when I was going downhill. I was nonchalantly leaning back whilst cruising down the hill, and I think it was that point I noticed something was odd. I initially thought I was just imagining it and the handlebars had always been that far back. Then I noticed it […]
I wanted something powerful that would help me pick up hot chicks. Today I took my new ride for it’s first serious cruise.
Even more photos from my trip to Landschaftspark, Duisburg with Steffi.
Some more photos from my trip with Steffi to Landschaftspark in Duisburg.
Me, wearing Tina’s lovely pink apron whilst cooking up some pizzas for a dinner party.
Is this new? Or did I just not see it all this time?
Landschaftspark is a park in Duisburg, designed to show off the former industrial nature of the area. I spent a pleasant afternoon there with Steffi.
