Snow day
We had the biggest snow dump I’ve seen in Dunedin city during 2011. Here are snaps from my camera from that day. Justine and I went to Poppas Pizza’s before going to see some snowboarders and skiers having a lot of fun on the hills.

Oslo got darned cold for a while. A good demonstration of how chilly it got is this waterfall which was almost totally frozen over.

Birdies in the snow
Apparently snow is edible! These pigeons were pulling out all sorts of edible delights from within the snow pack. And here I was thinking it was nothing but water! And a bonus photo of a duck 🙂

Crazy water sculpture
This is a crazy sculpture thingy sitting in the water beside the Oslo opera house. It turns on it’s axis in line with the tide and wind.
Frozen stream in Oslo
I went for a walk along the stream near my apartment. The river is starting to freeze over. I wasn’t ballsy enough to go stand on it, but it sure does make sure an idyllic view.

I’m currently blobbing out on my bed at Mercy hospital after having a Laterjet procedure performed on m shoulder yesterday morning. I went for a walk earlier and took these photos out the ward windows on my phone.
Shoulder innards
I had a Laterjet procedure performed on me this morning to correct for extreme instabiliy in my left shoulder. My surgeon Simon McMahon kindly agreed to oranise for someone to take a photo of the internals of my shoulder. If you are squeamish you may not want to see them.

Hockey trip to Naseby
I helped organise a social hockey trip to Naseby this winter. We were greeted with an awesome snowy experience on arriving in Naseby, including snow during one of our games! My should was too munted to play, so I refereed it instead.
Lower Manorburn dam
Dave Patchett and I headed to the Lower Manorburn dam for some ice skating on July 10th. The ice was a bit thin in some areas, but we found enough to skate on 🙂
Big ass insect!
Chris Laing spotted this giant flying insect whilst we were walking along the Matukituki track in Mount Aspiring National Park. It was around 10 – 12 cm long. I assume it’s a Dragonfly but am not sure – if you can confirm or provide more information about it, please leave a comment below!
