After escaping the people overflow in Wanaka, Melissa and I headed over the Crown Range enroute to the equally overflowing Queenstown. For future reference, I don’t recommend visiting tourist hot spots on new years eve 🙂
I had a few hours spare before meeting up with Melissa in Oamaru, so headed north to Mount Cook for the afternoon. Unfortunately the weather started to pack in badly as I arrived.
Melissa and I went to see some Baby Blue penguins at the Oamaru colony. Unfortunately it was nearly impossible to get a good photo due to the crappy lighting but below is the best I managed.
In the absence of good photos, we drew some penguins instead 🙂
