Sunset near Ingierstrand

My lovely friend Ingvild invited me to Ingierstrand just outside of Oslo to hang out with her and her friends for the weekend. We had a terrific time and witnessed a spectacular sunset across the fiord just after dinner.

Øyungen

I went on a cycling trip to Øyungen, a small lake near Oslo. Round trip was about 37 km, which considering my total lack of fitness and excessive flab, was no mean feat! Here’s some photos en-route to the lake, photos of the lake itself coming up soon 🙂

I tried to take a short cut, unfortunately my shortcut became almost vertical so I had to turn back!

Waipara Hills

I always told you could buy this stuff all over the world, but I assumed that meant that a few boutique wine stores dotted around the globe would stock the occasional bottle. But I walked into the local Vinmonopolet (Norwegian for “Wine Monopoly”) and smack bang in the middle of one of the shelves was a bottle of Waiapara Hills Pinot Gris. 150 NOK later and Anita and I opened it to celebrate … um, can’t remember what, but it tasted good 🙂
